This coffee originates from Uraga in the Guji zone, often hailed as the birthplace of coffee. The area, blanketed in forests, is ideal for farming and boasts perfect conditions for cultivating Arabica coffee: high altitudes (over 1,500 meters), nutrient-rich, well-drained volcanic soils that require minimal fertilizers, and a highland tropical climate with 1,500–2,500 mm of rainfall spread over nine months and optimal temperatures ranging from 15 to 24°C.

Over the past sixty years, Guji has undergone significant commercial and cultural advancements, establishing itself as a unique coffee-growing region.

Most of the coffee trees here are relatively young, typically of the 74410 and 74412 varieties. These two varieties have demonstrated the greatest resistance to Uraga's environment while still showcasing its distinctive coffee profile.
